Small Business Challenge in Charlotte NC

The Charlotte, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce held their first ever PowerUp Challenge last year in 2012. The inaugural winner of the challenge was a company called InfoSense. By being chosen as the winner they received a prize package that included a $25,000 grant from Duke Power.

What could $25,000 dollars do for your business?

If you want to try to find out, the Charlotte Chamber is hosting another PowerUp Challenge in 2013 for small businesses and innovative start-ups.

What is the PowerUp Challenge?

Hosted by the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, it identifies promising start-ups and small businesses in each chapter area & awards a prize package to one company in each chapter footprint and a grand prize to one finalist.

Who can apply?

According to the Chamber, small business owners and entrepreneurs who provide innovative products and services to support the growth of Charlotte’s economy are eligible to compete. The companies must be located in Charlotte, N.C.; Charlotte Chamber members in good standing; and for-profit organizations with $1 million or less in total revenue. Franchises are not eligible.

Competition dates are coming fast:

April 2: SouthWest Chapter
April 11: University City Chapter
May 16: NorthWest Chapter
June 18: East Chapter
July 9: SouthPark Chapter
August 1: Ballantyne Chapter
September 24: Metro Chapter
November 14: PowerUp Competition Grand Finale
