3 Apps I Use Everyday to Increase Productivity

One thing that I’ve been trying to improve lately is time management and productivity. Traditionally, this hasn’t been one of my strong suits. If you’re like me, you have a lot of different things going on throughout the day, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Luckily, in today’s day and age it is easier then ever to stay organized and productive with our smart phones.

An app that I just started using is MyMinutes. I picked this app after reading a great blog by Mike over at a BetterMess.com.  The app is basically a stopwatch, but you can add tasks and keep track of them.  I’m always looking for better ways to spend my time and MyMinutes helps tremendously.  What I like is that it takes guessing out of the equation.  If you want to figure out the best way to use your time pick up the free app.  I’ll do a task one day, and try it another way the next day.  I simply go back to see which one was faster.  It’s that easy.  Although I use it to track little tasks, it can also be great for billing.

Another app that I’ve started using that has helped a ton is Orchestra. It basically takes 3 or 4 apps I previously used  and puts them all in one place.  I use the voice control to set to-do lists all the time, and I’m constantly setting reminders.  I also take advantage of the email integration.  I get a ton of emails a day, and I was dropping the ball on some of them.  There was just too many, and the important ones were sometimes getting overlooked.  Now I can send it over to Orchestra, and I don’t have to worry about missing something important.  The same company that made Orchestra is also coming out with a Mailbox app for email.  I think it ‘s out now, but you have to sign up and reserve a spot.  I’m waiting to download it, but if it’s anything like they have now, I’m sure it’ll be great.

The 3rd app, that I use on a daily basis and have been for awhile, is HootSuite.  If you have more then one Social Media account then you need it.  If I want to send out a new blog post it can go out over all the platforms at once.  If I come across something cool on the web I’m a click away from sharing it.  I believe it’s free for up to 5 accounts, but I have yet to pay for it.  There’s a bunch of apps that essentially do the same thing, but I’ve found Hootsuite to be the easiest.

Like I said, I have been using Hootsuite for a little while, but the others are relatively new.  I’ve made it a point to better use my time, and these 3 apps have certainly helped me meet my goal.  Although I have recently gotten better I am going to continue to find ways to increase my productivity.

Do you use apps to increase productivity? Have any suggestions? Leave them in the comments below…
