In case you haven’t heard, the buzz is back in Charlotte. The Charlotte Bobcats are officially the Hornets, and what a way to make a comeback! The first Hornets game in almost 15 years in the Queen City turned out to be one that made history. The game may not have been at the old Coliseum, but with the buzz in the air, it felt like the days of Dell Curry, Mugsy Bogues, Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson.
The Hornets started off slow and found themselves down by 24 at one point, but the largest comeback in franchise history had the Time Warner Cable Arena rocking. Even the boss, Michael Jordan, was loving the comeback and was high fiving when Kemba Walker hit a clutch 3 with 1.6 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter. After an 8-6 OT period that went in the Hornets favor, generations of Hornets fan left the arena all smiles.
Next up for the Hornets is the Memphis Grizzlies coming to town Saturday night. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, and you want to create great memories with friends and family go check out the game. If you can’t make it this Saturday there’s plenty of chances to get to see your hometown team and other NBA greats.
Make it out to the arena on November 7th to see division rival Atlanta; November 17th to see Dirk Nowitzki and the revamped Mavericks; November 24th or December 3rd to see NBA favorites Clippers & Bulls; November 28th to see hometown favorite and son of former Hornet Dell Curry, Stephan; and of course January 2nd to the Cavs and King James. These are just a few of the highlights upcoming this season to Charlotte, but there’s plenty of other chances to get to the arena. I’m sure it will be rocking!
The buzz is back in Charlotte and it’s going to be a great season!
