March Madness is just getting started but now is a good time to figure out where you plan to watch this season’s best match-ups. In Charlotte, we know how to support our teams, so whether you hang out at home, head out to a bar, or watch a live game, you can be sure to have a great time!
There’s No Place Like Home
No matter what team you’re rooting for this year, there’s nothing like staying home with a group of your closest friend to cheer on your favorites. At home you can control the food and drinks and enjoy whatever you and your friends prefer. You may have to spend a little extra time preparing things, but it’s often worth it with the money you’ll save and the quality time you’ll enjoy. So fill out your bracket, grab some chips and salsa, and enjoy the games with your friends from the comfort of your home!
Hef’s Bar & Grill
Hoping to catch a glimpse of history in the making? Staying home may be fun, but at Hef’s Bar and Grill you can watch the Kentucky Wildcats try to maintain their winning streak! The last time a team went completely undefeated was Indiana in 1976, so another undefeated team is long overdue. Hef’s has recently moved into a building three times the size of their previous location, so they are in a great position to be your new favorite sports hot spot. With 5,400 square feet, 27 big-screen televisions, and a full sound system, Hef’s is the perfect place to enjoy March Madness!
Find a Bar and Go With Friends
Aside from Hef’s, there are numerous bars in the Charlotte area that could serve as a prime spot to watch your favorite team. However, it can sometimes be difficult to determine where to go. How can you find which bar will be airing your team? The Fanatic app, created by Babak Poushanchi, is a great way to locate which bars in your area have a history of airing your favorite team.
With the Fanatic app you can create plans, check in to your local hot spots, and share photos right through the app. Social media is also easily integrated and allows you to promote great locations and share your favorite new locations. The app is available for both iPhone and Android owners, so be sure to download it today and find a great new bar to watch the games!
Go Where the Action is!
What better way to watch March Madness than by going to see it live and in person? In Charlotte we have the privilege of hosting eight teams this year: Michigan State, Georgia, Virginia, Belmont, Duke, North Florida/Robert Morris, San Diego State, and St. John’s. At the Time Warner Cable Arena, ticketed games will be held on Friday March 20 and Sunday March 22, but there is also a bonus, Open Practice Day on March 19, that’s free and open to the public. Check out the Time Warner Cable Arena’s website for available tickets as well as practice times for each of the eight teams represented this year.
No matter where you decide to watch the games, this year’s March Madness is sure to be a crowd pleaser! So whether you stay home, find a great new bar to watch the games with your friends, or go to a live game, there’s no doubt that Charlotte is a great place to enjoy the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
