Charlotte is an excellent place to celebrate Independence Day! Whether you prefer to be indoors or outdoors, there are many different events going on in the Queen City for the holiday. From hanging out at one of the many local breweries to taking in a live music show or outdoor festival, the choice is yours! Now that the long weekend is upon us, here are just a few of the fun activities going on about town!
Sycamore Brewing 4th of July Weekend Celebration
If you are looking to kick the holiday off early, join the celebration at Sycamore brewing July 1st-July 4th. Beginning on Saturday, enjoy the music of Dirt Poor at 2pm and Todd Johnson and the Revolvers at 6pm, while chowing down on some delicious food truck eats from the Gyro Twins Truck. Sunday will feature the music stylings of the Jason Clay Band at 2pm and the well-known Tin Kitchen food truck. Or if you are looking for a place for pre-fireworks brews on Monday, Sycamore is open at 12pm with music by Fishout Ofwater!
Charlotte Symphony – Summer Pops: Celebrate America
What better way to celebrate America than taking in some of our nation’s most renowned patriotic medleys played beautifully by the Charlotte Symphony! From 7pm to 9pm this Saturday at Symphony Park, join conductor Albert-George Schram in saluting our country with classic American favorites such as, God Bless America and the Armed Forces Medley. You can also expect a fantastic fireworks display that will accompany the end of the show!
Charlotte Motor Speedway – Bojangles Summer Shootout
Celebrate the 4th of July Charlotte style by attending the Bojangles Summer Shootout at the Charlotte Motor Speedway! Get ready for round 5 of the Bojangles Summer Shootout series, with drivers Ashton Higgins (Outlaws Division), Tom Pistone (Security Force Masters Division) and Michael Torres (Pro Division). This year’s celebration will also feature Legend Car and Bandolero racing on the front stretch quarter-mile! Families should definitely go check out the bounce house and face painting at the Speedway Play Zone! After the on-track events conclude, top off the night with a spectacular fireworks display! The gates will open at 5pm of July 4th, with the opening ceremonies scheduled to begin at 7pm!
