Thanksgiving Day Parade in Charlotte
Started in 1947, this magical event invites friends and family come and celebrate Thanksgiving with local talent. Starting at 9:30 a.m. on November 23rd, you can join the thousands of Charlotte residents and visitors for the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
If you aren’t able to catch the parade in person, be sure to see it on TV on WBTV. In addition to the parade, Charlotte is also offering other events for the long weekend, including WBT Holiday on Ice outside the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Carowinds WinterFest, and more!

Volunteer This Thanksgiving
Whether you donate your time or extra food, there are things everyone can do to make Thanksgiving that much more special for families in need.
Charlotte Rescue Mission is accepting Thanksgiving turkeys to make meals for people in need. You can drop off turkeys until November 18th at 907 W. 1st St. in Charlotte.
Hospitality House of Charlotte allows volunteers to cook for the community they serve; you can email [email protected] for more information.
You can also volunteer at Second Harvest Food bank, located at 500-B Spratt St. in Charlotte. Call 704-805-1712 to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Your donation of time or food items can greatly help those in need this holiday season!
