Looking for some fun activities to do this summer? Whether you want to spend time outdoors or prefer to be inside during the hotter temperatures, Charlotte has something fun to do for everyone in summer 2019. Here are a few events you and your family can enjoy!
2019 Queen City Summerfest
Catch this Summerfest on Saturday, August 24 from 1-5 p.m. at The Carol Hoefener Center, 615 East 6th Street in Charlotte. The event will have more than 50 vendors and feature:
- Face painting
- Coloring stations
- Food and a bake sale
- Live performances
- Contests and giveaways
- Activities including laser tag, a bounce house, mini golf, and more!
This event is family-friendly and free! They’ll also be having a back-to-school drive, so bring any extra school supplies you want to donate. To reserve tickets, click here.
U.S National Whitewater Center
The U.S National Whitewater Center in Charlotte has tons of events this summer. You can get a day pass with access to all available activities that day or single activity passes if you’re just interested in one event, such as mountain biking or whitewater kayaking.
The center also has River Jam, where live music is performed in the middle of their whitewater river on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. You can also dine there or participate in yoga available Thursday-Saturday evenings. For tickets and more information visit their website.

Check Out TopGolf in Charlotte
If you’re into golf, check out TopGolf in Charlotte at 8024 Savoy Corporate Drive. Open late—12 a.m. weekdays and 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday—TopGolf features more than 100 climate-controlled hitting bays, full-service restaurants and bars, more than 200 TVs, free-Wi-Fi, and a rooftop terrace with available private space for events and meeting rooms.
