Calling all entrepreneurs in the Charlotte area! Are you looking for a way to take your idea or fledgling small business to the next level? The Power Up Chapter Challenge is a great way to be noticed and to help your idea or small business to take off. All competitors are asked to present their unique stories to members of the chapter and to show how their business is unique and ready to succeed. Each presentation is required to display issues that are often faced while trying to grow and create jobs in today’s economy. Many challenges and successes will be discussed in the process as well.
Prizes and Benefits
Prizes will be awarded to one company in each chapter and a grand prize will be awarded to one finalist over all. Each chapter level winner will receive a cash prize and a prize package from Charlotte Chamber member sponsors and Power Up partners. The grand prize will be provided by Duke Energy and will be an additional cash prize of $25,000.
In order to be eligible you must be a small business or entrepreneur who supports the growth of Charlotte’s economy through original products or services. You must be a for-profit organization with $1 million or less in total revenue and also located in the Charlotte region. Members and nonmembers are eligible to compete but in order to be a finalist you must be a chamber member in good standing and franchises are not eligible.
When and How to Participate
Participation is free and both members and nonmembers may apply to compete simply download and submit the application on the charlottechamber.com website. The dates of the competition are as follows:
April 24: SouthWest Chapter
May 15: NorthWest Chapter
June 12: University City Chapter
July 8: SouthPark Chapter
Aug. 7: Ballantyne Chapter
Sept. 23 Metro Chapter
Oct. 21: East Chapter
Nov. 19: Reception
Nov. 20: Grand Finale
