Charlotte North Carolina Fall SeptemberSummer is in full gear in and around the Queen City!  It’s hot out, but that doesn’t stop people from enjoying tons of outdoor activities in the area.  Before the kids head back to school enjoy the final few weeks of August.  Here’s some things going on in the area in August.

The Duke Mansion

In all my time in Charlotte, I’ve yet to make it to the Duke Mansion, but I’ve heard it’s unbelievable.  What better reason to go than to enjoy a happy hour?  Once again the Duke Mansion is doing summer cocktails.  So grab some friends and head on over and explore the four acres of gardens.

Eventful

The Eventful website lists tons of great things going on in Charlotte although they focus mainly on music.  There are a ton of great shows still left to see in August, and there’s something for all types of musical tastes.

Some of the acts that are coming to town are Florida Georgia Line, John Mayer, Luke Bryan, Gov’t Mule, Social Distortion & the Charlotte Funk Fest.  See, I told you there’s was something for everyone.

Panthers Fanfest

Keep pounding!! People around town love the Panthers and a lot of them come out to show there support during the FanFest.  In fact, there is so much demand for the FanFest that you now need a ticket to attend and they are $5.  All ticket proceeds go to charities supported by the Panthers, so you can show your team pride and support a good cause.

Cheap & Free Events

One of the website we always support and share around here is Charlotte on the Cheap.  They always have a huge list of free and cheap events happening in the area.  Some of the events on tap for August include,  Yoga at the Whitewater Center, free concerts in First Ward Park, Davidson & Cornelius Nights Out & a ton of other events, so be sure to check their website often.  They are constantly adding stuff throughout the month.

School may be starting soon, and the heat may be overwhelming at times, but be sure to stay hydrated and enjoy all that the area has to offer in August.
